If so, why do you buy it? Do you ever second guess it? Does the fulfillment of the item last long? Do you ever regret it?

I feel like I have some kind of intricate and unexamined algorithm that determines whether or not I buy that new thing. Some elaborately weighted rubric involving our finances, my current stress level, unexpected incoming sources of revenue, sale price, and a projection about how much ease, joy, fun, meaning the item will bring me or my family and for how long.

I love this. We all need a set of checks and balances to make sure it is the right decision for us.
